About Worldwide Horizons
This website was designed to provide easy access to fun and educational resources for children. I hope these multicultural products will encourage a child's: interest in his/her heritage, knowledge of the broader world,
or foreign language skills. Also, materials on this site can add to existing schoolwork or travel experiences.
My interest in international awareness and education developed through my own experience. As a child, I dreamed of traveling the world and found several outlets to explore these interests. I loved reading books about different cultures and countries, studied several foreign languages, and corresponded with penpals around the world. Additionally, my family integrated traditions from our cultural heritage into our lives, particularly during holidays. As an adult, I have been very fortunate to travel to many of the places I studied as a child (over 30 countries) and experience the countries my ancestors came from.
Through Worldwide Horizons, I hope to help kids learn about -- and more importantly become excited about -- the world.
